"Primarily I use Terrain Navigator in conjunction with Pocket Navigator on my Pocket PC. Terrain Navigator Pro has made it very ease to do the initial reconnaissance for larger projects. I am able to navigate to my corner search areas, locate roads as we drive along, and use it as a planning tool for the larger parcels we survey."

"I am using TNP on just about a daily basis for various needs. Beyond the basic "where is it" question, I use it to help find vertical and horizontal control for GPS work...But probably my most frequent use of TNP is in exporting quad and aerial images. I use these images in a wide variety of end uses." Read More

"We use TNP primarily as a research tool...The 3D ability of the program is extremely helpful. We can take a flight around the property in a 360 degree view and really get familiar with the lay of the land. As a private pilot I have flown over several projects before hand to see how things look. I can get the same perspective with the 3D aerial maps." Read More

"My top three uses are:
1. Planning - I don't go to the field without it.
2. Confirmation to doubting clients. There is nothing like a good aerial photo to show a client.
3. Importing into drawings.
Both field and office work go much faster with greater confidence.
Helps to confirm original surveys from the GLO."

"Today I used Terrain Navigator Pro running on my Fujitsu tablet PC, as I was connected to a Garmin handheld, and walked right to several old section corners deep in the woods. Probably saved me two days of work, as compared to the old way."

"We use TNP as a tool to develop initial best use plans and sketch designs for our land planning efforts and subdivision sketches during the initial site evaluation phases with our clients.
The ability to drape aerial photography over a 3D land form has become a very useful client presentation tool.
TNP has become a core tool in developing presentations for our clients and the project submittals that we prepare for planning and zoning requests."

"Terrain Navigator Pro is a wonderful program and I can't say enough about the benefits.
We use TNP in two general ways. The most common use is to print out areas of a quad sheet necessary for field reconnaissance and corner search. In conjunction with this the NGS data is used to assist us to find and use various control points. The second way that we use TNP is to export portions of a quad sheet into a bitmap file and then attach them to a CAD file as a raster image.
TNP has changed our work by making information more readily available, thus saving a lot of time. The eventual use of raster images in the office allow us to overlay traverse data and various knowns onto the topo sheet and enhance our ability to analyze a project or aid in field searches."

"Maptech's Terrain Navigator Pro has become an invaluable tool for many of our projects. The interface makes accessing and printing datasheets for N.G.S. benchmarks a breeze. The combination of USGS Topographic maps and aerial photos makes for easy production of reference maps to give our crews. The GIS/CAD map export allows us to quickly bring a descriptive background into our AutoCAD drawings that our clients love. Terrain Navigator Pro has proven itself many times over."
